Welcome or welcome back! My youngest daughter is about to have her first birthday! So, I need to get my outdoor space ready for the family to come over and enjoy! Since her birthday is in July, we will be able to have guests go outside if they want. We want guests to feel comfortable going outside, so everyone will be able to find a comfortable place to sit, eat a slice of pizza, and visit.

The Porch
Last year, I added gray concrete pots I got from Ross, and I had some annuals in them. This year, I'm putting in purple salvia, which is a perennial. I'm hoping this will grow wild and fill out the pot completely. On the siding, I added these hanging wall planters; they are so cute! I put some petunias there. I may switch to a faux flower next season, because when these get watered, they drip water everywhere. I washed my black stripy layering rug, and I kept the brown welcome mat the same.

The Patio
My husband and I put in this patio with some help from family and a few friends, and it has been the best place to host gatherings and to relax during lazy summer evenings. We got the table second-hand from Connor's parents; we love it for hosting dinners.
I picked up this planter from Walmart last year, and I tried to grow lavender in it, but it did not work! I have a few geodes, so I make a mini rock garden. I picked up this citronella candle from Walmart this year. I think it's important to have some sort of mosquito repellent around, and this one happens to be cute! I'll be reusing the container when the candle burns out. At Walmart, I found that they have pillar citronella candles, so it would be easy to pick one of those up, melt and refill this one!

Apple Tree
I like to hang things on the apple tree, and I already have some wind chimes. This year, I added a DIY bird feeder and a bird house I found at Ross.
I had a pile of rocks sitting on the basketball court, and I got the idea to make a rock garden with them all around the edging of the apple tree bed. I added some stepping stones within the rock garden, so we can get around the tree when we pick apples. I filled in the bare spots with some pea gravel and now want to find interesting rocks and add them to this garden. I'm also thinking of doing some DIY stepping stones. Lastly, we put in fresh mulch in all the flower beds, we got all of our mulch from Lowes!

Garden Path
In the garden path leading into the back yard, we added new mulch to the flower beds. I'm hoping to make this area a cut flower garden space someday, I think it will look and feel amazing to walk back here with lots of flowers growing. I want to find a garden bench for this area, I think it would look so dreamy in the evenings with the lights overhead and the flowers all around. I just love this space.
I love being outside, so it was so important for me to get this done, especially since we will be hosting a couple of gatherings this summer! I'm so excited for all the get-togethers and memories that are going to be made in this space! There's still more I would like to do, so if you are following along on Instagram, you will be able to see what I do next! Until next time, see ya!
Isaiah 58:11
The Lord will guide you always.
He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
