Summer Home Refresh

Published on 31 July 2025 at 12:00

Welcome or welcome back! In Utah the summers are so hot! So we usually get outside in the mornings and in the evenings, in the afternoon when the sun is at its highest, it's best to stay indoors unless you want a wicked sunburn! So, for me it's important to decorate around the house for summer. I think it's important to change things up every so often and the changing of seasons is the perfect time! This summer I'm going for minimal, light and airy. this makes it easy to clean too.

Formal Living Space

I'm keeping this mostly the same, I've swapped out the stack of books and vases for a basket tray and vases. I kept the same pillows from spring and added a map pillow of the USA. On top of my curio cabinet, I have a wax warmer, a glass jar to hold keys, a vase, and a pretty watercolor of Christ. That was a gift from my church for Mother's Day!

Front Door

I made a wreath basket! I picked up this basket for Michaels a couple of months ago, got some flowers, a couple of foam blocks, and I added a ribbon and some faux flowers. I also picked up a longer wreath hanger, so the basket would sit exactly where I wanted it.

Dining Room

As you can see, I have a new dining table and chairs! My husband built this table himself, and we love it! we picked up the chairs from Ikea! I'm styling this with a charger, a couple of vases, and one with fresh flowers. I like to use a charger here so I can slide everything out of the way quickly, when I want to do a project or paint. So thankful to have this table.

Kitchen

I didn't do much here, but I did pick up some new kitchen towels from Pioneer Woman, and they are so cute! I moved some cutting boards. I see kitchens as more of a functional space, so I usually keep it minimal on decor here, especially since things are prone to getting dirty.

Family Room

I picked up some new pillow covers from Amazon. I've seen this one around from other creators and wanted one. On the picture ledge, I added this wooden flag with the enlistment oath on it (my husband is in the Navy). On one of the cabinets, a few faux candles, and on the mantle, a stack of books, a candlestick holder, a vase, and a pot with a crochet project hidden inside. On the other side, I have a bundle of dried lavender and a faux plant.

I love decorating for the seasons. I always seam to want to things to change, especially décor. I love this way of styling a home, just minimal light and airy, not an overwhelming amount of things. This also makes it easy on the eyes and easier to clean the spaces!  Happy summer! Until next time, see ya!

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
